Grade II listed and built around 1845-50 for Calverts the brewers: brown stock brick with a stuccoed ground storey, Italianate, three storeys under a bracketed cornice and heavy quoins. Projecting iron light fixtures in the form of dragons flank the entrances, and the high stuccoed wall along Princess Road that encloses the walled garden is part of the listing. The best Camden-area match for food, a proper pub and an attractive building at once.
