64-metre hill at the north edge of Regent's Park with a protected viewpoint across central London — St Paul's, the Shard, the City cluster. Grassy summit, neighborhood picnic spot, and one of the best sunset vantages in the city. The village around the base is impossibly charming in that moneyed North London way.

Insider Intel
Walk up from Regent's Park (15 minutes from the zoo) or approach from Chalk Farm tube through the village. The summit is open and gets crowded on warm weekends — midweek or early morning for solitude. Sunset in summer is peak activity. Walk down into Primrose Hill village for cafes and pubs afterward.
Golden hour year-round for the skyline view. Summer evenings when the locals bring wine and picnic blankets. Early morning for runners and dog walkers — peaceful and clear air. Winter sunsets at 16:00 mean you can combine it with an afternoon elsewhere.
Protected viewing corridor since 1937 — no tall buildings can obstruct the sightline to St Paul's. The hill is part of the Crown Estate and was nearly developed in the 19th century before public outcry saved it. Primrose Hill village has the highest concentration of famous residents in London — actors, musicians, media types. Comes with the corresponding cafe prices. The view is free and genuinely one of London's best.
