An independent boutique hotel in a 19th-century Eixample building that functions as a creative community hub — the ground-floor cafe (Satan's Coffee Corner outpost), the co-working spaces, the rooftop bar with views of Torre Glories, and the cultural programming (DJ sets, art exhibitions, talks) give Casa Bonay an energy that most hotels cannot fabricate because most hotels are not genuinely embedded in their neighbourhood. The rooms are designed with restraint — terrazzo floors, simple furniture, large windows onto the Eixample grid — and the building itself, with its original Catalan modernisme details, provides the decoration. Liberata, the in-house restaurant, serves Mediterranean food with the same philosophy: good ingredients, minimal intervention.
