Paris's oldest Alsatian brasserie, open since 1864 and the first in the city to serve draft beer — a classified Art Nouveau interior crowned by a stained-glass cupola, near Bastille. The choucroute garnie is the order they have been perfecting for over a century and a half, or seafood beneath the dome, finished with a rum baba. Request the upstairs main room with the cupola; the downstairs annex is far less special. Dinner under that glass dome is the experience, and the Bastille location makes it a natural close to an afternoon in the Marais.
