Named after the incendiary 1913 Futurist magazine that Papini and Soffici used to wage aesthetic war on bourgeois Italy, Lacerba channels that avant-garde spirit into a speakeasy tucked behind Porta Romana. The decor is steeped in Futurist references — angular geometries, manifestos as wall art, the restless energy of a movement that wanted to burn museums and build the future. The amaro collection is among the finest in Milan, dozens of bottles representing the full bittersweet spectrum of Italian digestive culture. Cocktails are inventive without being disrespectful to their base spirits, and the atmosphere is intimate enough that conversation feels conspiratorial.

Start with an amaro flight — the collection is deep enough to justify exploration, from the alpine gentian bitterness of a Braulio to the artichoke earthiness of a Cynar Settanta. The cocktail menu rotates but anything built on Italian bitter spirits is the house strength. If you want a single drink, ask for their take on a Paper Plane or a Negroni variation using rare amari.
Thursday through Saturday evenings from 9pm, when the room fills to its ideal density and the low lighting earns its atmosphere. Earlier in the week for quieter, more contemplative drinking where the bartender has time to walk you through the amaro selection at length.
The speakeasy entrance requires some finding — Via Orti is a residential street in Porta Romana and the signage is deliberately subtle. The Futurist theme is genuine and well-researched, not cosplay. The neighbourhood is quieter than Navigli or Brera, which means you are drinking with locals and cocktail enthusiasts rather than tourists. Prices reflect the quality of spirits and the craft of preparation. Reservations recommended on weekends.
