Beer and mezcal — alternate between the two and the botanas keep pace. The guacamole and chicharron plates are excellent. The cocktails are simple but the mezcal selection warrants neat exploration. On football days, the energy and the drinking accelerate together, and the botanas kitchen responds accordingly.
Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm, especially during Liga MX matches when the cantina becomes a living room for the neighborhood. Weekday evenings from 7pm are quieter and more conversational. The botanas kitchen runs strongest during lunch and early afternoon.
