Downstairs is dark, seated, and intimate, built for serious drinking, where you tell the bartenders your whiskey preferences and let them work. Start upstairs early evening for the aperitivo, then descend to the basement for the serious round. Both floors are excellent, but they offer completely different experiences, so plan accordingly. It is one of the smartest two-in-one rooms in the city — sociable up top, contemplative below.
