Across the Tejo by ferry in Cacilhas, at the end of a crumbling waterfront walkway, sits a restaurant with plastic chairs, paper tablecloths, and the single greatest view of Lisbon available from any dining table. Ponto Final serves grilled fish with the simplicity of a kitchen that lets the ingredients and the geography do the talking. You eat sardines or sea bream looking back at the hillside city shimmering in the afternoon light, and you understand why the ferry ride is part of the meal.

Grilled dourada (sea bream) or robalo (sea bass) — the two fish they do best, seasoned with salt and olive oil and cooked over coals until the skin blisters. Arroz de marisco (seafood rice, soupy and rich) if available — it is the best thing on the menu when it runs. Polvo a lagareiro (octopus with crushed potatoes and olive oil). Salada mista to cut the richness. House white wine, cold, from a jug.
Lunch between 12:30 and 14:00 on a sunny day — the outdoor terrace facing Lisbon is the entire point. Arrive early; by 13:00 on weekends the queue forms along the waterfront. The ferry from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas takes 10 minutes and runs frequently.
Take the ferry from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas (10 minutes, runs every 15-20 minutes), then walk left along the waterfront for about 5 minutes. The path is crumbling and atmospheric — abandoned warehouses and river views. No reservations. The terrace is the only place to sit in good weather; interior is cramped. Cash is safer though cards are increasingly accepted. Come on a clear day or do not come at all — rain eliminates the entire premise.
