Josef Gočár's 1912 Czech Cubist department store in the Old Town — one of the few buildings anywhere to apply Cubism, the painting movement, to architecture, with a sharp, faceted facade unlike anything around it. Inside, the beautifully restored Grand Café Orient is a working Cubist café, down to the angular furniture and fittings. The building now also houses a museum of Czech Cubism. For visitors, it's a singular experience: a chance to see and sit inside a genuinely Cubist building, sipping coffee amid geometry that exists almost nowhere else, in the heart of Gothic and Baroque Prague.
