Dickie Brennan's seafood house on Bourbon Street — and despite the address, entirely legit, with a raw bar, excellent Gulf oysters, and a serious whiskey list. Start with Gulf oysters on the half shell, then the BBQ shrimp, with whiskey to drink. Come for happy hour at the raw bar, when it is less crowded than prime dinner time. The raw-bar quality is excellent and the whiskey list rivals the cocktail bars. It is proof that good things happen on Bourbon Street — a proper Brennan seafood temple where the oysters are pristine and the brown-spirits selection is a genuine surprise, hiding in plain sight on the city's rowdiest strip.
