A former magistrates' court near Tower Bridge turned hotel, with the original architecture proudly intact — the Courtroom Bar keeps its tall ceilings, wood panelling, domed ceiling, and the judge's bench where you can now sit where the magistrate once presided. Have a cocktail in that courtroom for the atmosphere; the Provisioners restaurant occupies the old cells, some of which are now private dining rooms. Come early evening for the room, then walk to Tower Bridge for sunset, with Borough Market and the South Bank close by. It is a genuinely characterful conversion — drinking and dining inside the bones of the old court, history and all.
