Jean Nouvel's bullet-shaped tower in Poblenou — Torre Glòries, formerly the Agbar Tower — clad in a shimmering, perforated skin that shifts color and glows at night. By day its bullet silhouette is a striking punctuation mark on the skyline; after dark the illuminated facade becomes the real spectacle, cycling through blues and reds. Inspired, Nouvel said, by Montserrat's peaks and by geysers of water, it has become one of the defining images of the city's modern, eastern districts. For architecture enthusiasts, the night lighting is the moment to catch it.

Tomás Saraceno's Cloud Cities inside the 30th-floor glass dome — his only permanent installation in Europe, 113 walkable chambers on some six kilometres of tensioned cable, which you climb through at 130 metres. The north side was designed around the Sagrada Família view.
Sunset. Open to 21:00 April–October and later in high summer. Note it closes Tuesdays from November through March — the likeliest way to waste a trip.
Timed entry, cheaper booked online, roughly €18–28 depending on what you add. The entrance is not in the tower itself but the glass building beside it. No re-entry, last admission an hour before close, and the Cloud Cities walk requires lockers and a phone strap.
