Art Nouveau glass greenhouse in the Burggarten transformed into a bar-restaurant where tropical palms tower overhead and the Hofburg palace fills the windows. The setting is genuinely extraordinary — imperial greenhouse architecture, natural light filtering through iron-and-glass vaulting, lush greenery creating an indoor garden atmosphere. The cocktails and wine list are competent rather than exceptional, and the food ranges from solid brunch to adequate dinner, but none of that matters when you're drinking a Spritz surrounded by palm trees inside a Habsburg-era conservatory. Vienna has grander buildings but few more magical drinking spaces.

Aperol Spritz or Austrian wine to match the greenhouse atmosphere. The brunch is solid weekend fare. Evening cocktails are competent. Come for the setting, not the drinks.
Late afternoon when sunlight floods through the glass ceiling, or weekend brunch when the Burggarten is at its most pleasant. Summer terrace extends into the garden.
Burggarten 1, adjacent to the Hofburg. The greenhouse is stunning but can feel touristy at peak times. Prices are moderate for the location. No reservations for the bar area — first come, first served. The terrace in summer is the best seat.
