Kris Yenbamroong grew up in the Thai restaurant world and then, rather than replicate his family's polished dining room, built something that channels the raucous energy of a Bangkok street stall. Night + Market Song occupies a Silver Lake storefront the size of a generous living room, and within it Yenbamroong serves a menu that ricochets between the familiar and the gleefully obscure. The larb is textbook northeastern Thai, the crying tiger beef arrives seared and sliced with a tamarind dipping sauce that makes you close your eyes. Dishes are aggressively seasoned, calibrated to make you reach for another Singha and another bite in equal measure. The room runs loud, the tables turn fast, and the whole experience feels like the platonic ideal of neighborhood dining.
